What makes the TruUltra ultrasound material so unique?

The TruUltra material is unlike anything else in the market. It showcases a high-quality ultrasound image to provide trainees with a true-to-life ultrasound training solution. Learners will benefit from realistic visualisation of the the internal jugular and subclavian veins, carotid and subclavian arteries.

The TruCVC does not have a limited shelf life, therefore this unit can be used over an extended period of time without vast deterioration to the insert.

What skills can I teach using the TruCVC?

An adult male head which enables learners to gain proficiency in:

True-to-life needle insertion, catheter advancement, fluid infusion/withdrawal, and hands-on procedural experience.

What age of patient is the TruCVC designed as?

The TruCVC is designed as an adult male patient.

Why can't I visualise the veins clearly?

Poor quality ultrasound images are caused by air inside the blood. To improve the image, insert more blood into the jugular, subclavian, common carotid. Approximately 50ml (veins) and 20ml (arteries) should be sufficient.

How often do I need to replace the ultrasound insert?

The ultrasound insert facilitates 20+ full catheter incisions using the recommended equipment sizes and 1000+ needle penetrations.

Why is the insert leaking when I refill blood into the veins?

Sometimes when refilling blood into the system, you may see some small leaks on the insert from old punctures. This is caused when the blood is being refilled too quickly through the syringe. To minimize the leakage, enter the fluid slowly.

What package contents will arrive with my order?

1 TruCVC model (TCVC100)
1 TruCVC carrier case
1 250ml bottle of artificial blood concentrate (CVB250)
1 luer lock syringe

What replacement consumables are compatible?

TruCVC Insert (TCVCINSERT1)
Concentrated blood (CVB250)
TruUltra Gel - 5 x 250ml bottles (TNGEL100)

What equipment sizes are recommended?

We recommend the use of an 8Fr (16cm long catheter).
We do not recommend the use of a scalpel for the initial incision or sutures to complete the procedure as this will affect the durability of the unit.

Does the training model provide user feedback to indicate successful procedures?

Yes, real feel vascular tenting will be experienced upon entry into a vessel and fluid can be withdrawn if the procedure is successful. You can also simulate a pulse through simple hand pump provided with the product.

How do I replace the TruCVC insert?

Please follow the instructions in the product user manual to insert fluid. The process should be no longer than 5-10 minutes!
